In this course, students learn
- to make express connections between different types of line drawings and aspects of expressive and visual composition
- the object representations with the help of lines and positive and negative interaction forms
- to be introduced to the concepts of unity and geometric and organic forms
- the principles of balance and visual methods for creating visual textures of a composition
- the visual and expressive qualities of tonal values, balance, and visual emphasis
- elements and principles of illusions, of depth and pace, and the concepts of line, shape, tone, and color
- the principles of volume, continuity, and interaction of form and space
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to solve problems of visual composition and express the possibilities of object representations by the interaction of forms. They will also be able to use the principles of visual balance, textures, colors, and contrasts as part of an expression in 2D or 3D visual composition.
